Historic Village and the John L. Wehle Art Gallery, North
America's premier collection of wildlife and sporting art,
are open May-October. They are now closed
for the season, except for special programs, and will reopen
on May 2, 2006

Visit Genesee Country
Village
The Genesee Country Museum has been created on more than 600 acres of rural land in
scenic Mumford, N.Y. You will step back in time and never lack for
things to do There is much to see and you will never lack for things
to do during your visit
to the 19th century. You'll see demonstrations of early American
life that include the crafts and trades commonly practiced in
the 1800s and learn about details of day-to-day life on the farm and
in the city. You can learn about, and even take part, in
hands-on learning opportunities as you tour the museum. Explore one of the finest
collections of wildlife and sporting art at the museum's gallery.
Hike or cross country ski on five miles of the more than 175 acres
of interpreted trails at the Genesee Country
Nature Center.
Guided tours
only May 3-6, 10-13, Oct. 18-21,
25-28
On Tuesdays through Fridays for the first two weeks and the last two
weeks of the regular season (for 2005: May 3-13 and October 18-28),
the museum will only offer behind-the-scene guided
tours of the Historic Village. Tours begin every hour on the hour,
starting at 10 a.m. with the last tour departing at 2 p.m.
Traditional self-guided tours will be available on weekends during
this period, and every day from May 17 through October 14. The
Nature Center is open Jan. 2- Oct. 31

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday & Sunday
If you get tired of walking through the historic village, make
yourself comfortable on our wheelchair accessible trolley. It
circles the village at regular intervals every day during July and
August and on weekends in May, June, September and October. Benches
and picnic tables are located throughout the site.
Wheelchairs are available for use on site for $5 per day on a
