Our guests often come for more than just one or two days and travel in a different direction each day. They tell us they are delighted to find attractions in every direction that more than occupy their interests and only wish they had more time to spend. The Finger Lakes Region of New York is rich in American History and there are many unique museums dedicated to educating us regarding that history, and we would love to recommend places to visit during your stay and provide directions, maps, and brochures to assist you in making your decisions and planning your visits.
Corning, New York (Only 45 minutes away)
Corning Museum of Glass At the gateway of the Finger Lakes Region of New York is world-class museum; the Corning Museum of Glass. It contains the most comprehensive and celebrated glass collection in the world. But it's so much more than that. Dynamic and involving, the museum illuminates the glass-making process via displays and live and filmed demonstrations. Then it encourages visitors to try it for themselves. Inspiration comes from galleries filled with historic, exquisite pieces of glass; art glass of astounding beauty and way-out whimsy; and sculptures that simply defy the medium. A large marketplace, a café, a coffee bar, and a courtyard entice visitors to prolong their stay and fully experience the unique resources of this extraordinary museum and best of all you can bring the whole family because children are free at CMOG.
